If bad weather rolls in during Tryouts, a decision will be made at the fields by the Roanoke Valley Youth Soccer Director of Coaching and his Staff. We will always stop immediately if lightning is in the area. You may be asked to remain in your cars until bad weather moves out of the area. The tryouts will then resume if weather allows.

TEAM FEES AND COMMITMENT
PLEASE NOTE THAT PLAYERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TRYOUT FOR A RVYSA TEAM IF THEY HAVE AN OUTSTANDING BALANCE FROM THE PREVIOUS SEASON.
Fees that are not submitted tend to cause the club difficulty in meeting its obligations; therefore your assistance in this is greatly appreciated.
Upon acceptance of a spot on a Roanoke Valley Youth Soccer Classic, Challenge or Academy Division team, each player (and family) shall be expected to make a commitment to the team for the entire year (fall and spring seasons). This commitment includes but is not limited to:
* Filling the roster spot on the team for the entire year
* Remitting fees for the entire year
* Attend all training sessions and games.
* RVYSA has some of the most cost effective and lowest fees in the entire state of NC. The League does all that it can to make high-level soccer available to any player that has the desire and commitment to play soccer.
Generally, no refunds of fees payments will be made once a team spot has been accepted. Additionally, the commitment to pay all annual fees for the year is binding notwithstanding circumstances which may arise that limit a player’s activity with the team. Any request for a special waiver of this policy based on extraordinary circumstances must be made in writing to the League President.
TEAM ASSIGNMENT
Players will be offered places on RVYSA teams based on ability in their particular age group by telephone call within 3 days from the final tryout session. If there are enough players to construct more than one team, then two or more teams will be formed. Teams will be formed based on abilities with a Gold, and Black team if possible; with Gold being the strongest team. If the talent allows more than one team may be entered in NCYSA Div 2 or Challenge. Players will not be allowed to play up unless approved by age group coaches and DOC after the tryouts. Players may be dual rostered by the club only if it is the best interests of the player and the teams involved as adjudged by the DOC.
Once a player accepts a place on a RVYSA team, movement to another RVYSA team will be strongly discouraged unless there are extenuating circumstances. Players will not be moved during the season or in between fall and spring seasons again unless there are extenuating circumstances. New players may be added to a team on a case-by case basis and after a formal tryout with that team.
MAKING A COMMITMENT TO A TEAM SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN LIGHTLY AND SHOULD BE FOR THE DURATION OF THE NCYSA LEAGUE PLAY IN THE RESPECTIVE AGE GROUP.
Players and Parents should be aware that a player’s registration for a team is binding per USYS and/or US Club regulations.
TEAM MEETINGS AFTER TRYOUTS
After the initial phone call, teams will be posted on the website by tryout # and last name. After the teams have been posted, check the day and time for your team meeting. All paperwork will be completed at the team meeting. Your team manager can not register the team if one player’s paperwork is not in order. If a team’s paperwork is not cleared then they will not be given permission to start practice or to enter tournament/s as they will not be insured through RVYSA. RVYSA will assign practice fields and times based on availability. Conflicts with non-soccer activities will not be a factor in determining practice or game schedules.
