Kids shine on the basketball court.

The Roanoke Rapids based travel basketball team Rapid City Rockets 7th grade team traveled to Fayetteville and brings home the gold.

The Rapid City Rockets is made up of kids from GCP, Chaloner Middle and William R. Davie Middle school.

They played three games and  earned the victory in each. In game one they beat team Thunder 58-38, in game two they beat team Express 56-23 then beat team NC Gems 58- 32.

Coach Kenny Whitby stated, “I'm so proud of this group of kids they work hard and it is paying off. Go Rockets. Play the game.” We would like to thank Oscars Restaurant for sponsoring us and GCP for supporting us with a place to practice.
