U13 All-stars still alive in State tourney.

The Under 13 Roanoke Rapids Youth Baseball Association All-stars traveled to Washington NC for the Babe Ruth North Carolina Eastern Division State Tournament Thursday against the Newport team.

After a three hour battle between the Roanoke Rapids and Newport team, the Jackets All-stars prevailed with a 12-10 win and advancing in the winners bracket.

At the plate for Roanoke Rapids, Carson Neil went 3 for 4, Jarrett Yarborough went 3 for 4, Ryan Rowe went 2 for 3.

Cameron Salmon came to the mound the last three innings pitching 4 strike-outs and allowing no runs.

Roanoke Rapids U13 will now play Friday night at 8 against the winner of the Pitt County and Lumber River West game.
