What a wonderful baseball ride.
The Roanoke Rapids Under 15 baseball All-stars just came up one
game short on making the trip to the Babe Ruth World Series, but
never held their heads down Saturday.
The Jackets beat Arlington VA 5-4 to advance to the Southeastern
Regional Championship game and ENC State rematch with Lumber
River West.
The outcome was the same with Roanoke Rapids falling 10-0.
At the plate for the Jackets: Bracey Irby went 2 for 3, Marcus Allen
went 3 for 4 with 1 RBI, Colby Warren went 2 for 4, Brandon Moody
went 1 for 3, Hunter Connell went 1 for 2 and Jacob Rooker went
1 for 2.
On the mound for the Jackets: Colby Warren earned the win pitching
4 2/3 innings allowing 4 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks and 4 strike-outs and
Josh Elias pitched 2 1/3 innings allowing 2 hits, no runs, 1 walk and
3 strike-outs.
