USSSA Champions
Roanoke Rapids based under 12 girls travel softball team
Carolina Rippers traveled to Rocky Mount this past week-
end for the “NC USSSA Fall Sensation” USSSA softball
tournament and came away with the Championship trophy.
The Carolina Rippers had to face another Roanoke Rapids
based team in route and in the championship game.
The Rippers faced RV Power 03 early on in the two day
tournament and sent them to the loser bracket, but re-
bounded for the Championship match-up. RV Power won
the Championship game, but because it was a double
elimination tournament and it was the Rippers first lost
both teams played the championship game again. This
time the Carolina Rippers came away with the 4-2 win
and their first ever tournament championship.
"The girls needed this win to prove they can win," stated
coach Bill Ewers.
