Middle school basketball
Chaloner Middle school girls basketball team will have a
different face in the coaches box this season, though
she is not new to Chaloner. With twenty-two years at
Chaloner, Susan McDonald has been named the 2014-15
head coach.
In the past, McDonald has assisted former head coach
Gerald Rook for two years at Chaloner and also helped
Rook one year coaching at the High school team. Her
and her husband Robby also coached AAU basketball
over the years. Robby won a State Championship in
basketball at Louisburg High. Coaching and watching
basketball so much with him, Coach McDonald said,
“some coaching skills rubbed off on me”.
McDonald has two former players from their AAU team
helping coach and she said, I have an awesome coaching
staff and they are going to make me look good”. They
are Scoop McGee and Keisha Moseley.
Talking about her team, McDonald said, “we have a
good combination of players this year, good guards
and some hard workers at the post”.
