Roanoke Rapids & Northwest Halifax split varsity games


The first match-up of the night was the JV boys game.
Northwest Halifax won 44-39.

Northwest leading scorers were: Joshua Hawkins with
16 points and Daze' Mills with 9 points.


Roanoke Rapids leading scorers were: Ty Simmons with
16 points, Armontti Harvey and Dre Terry had 5 points
each and Daraj Watson with 4 points, Quincy Vann with
3 points while James Mallory, Jack Neville and Josh Elias
had 2 points each.



In the next match-up, the Roanoke Rapids varsity girls
new coach Jim Whitmire made his
debut.
Northwest came out on top in the end beating Roanoke
Rapids 69-49.


Leading scorers for Northwest were: Lanayjha Ashe with
44 points and Keona Nicholson with 12 points.


Leading scorers for Roanoke Rapids were: Haley Farrow
with 13 points, Brooke McClenny with 9 points and
Brianna Allen with 7 points.



In the varsity boys, new head coach Tyler Snyder's debut
the Yellow Jackets earned the win beating Northwest
Halifax 55-35.

Roanoke Rapids leading scorers were: Cameron Yarboro
with 20 points and Colton Clemons with 9 points .

North west leading scorers were: Arthur Harris with 11
points and Zion Jackson with 7 points.
Roanoke Rapids host Weldon Friday night while Northwest
will be home on Tuesday hosting North Edgecombe Warriors.
