Halifax JV boys picked up their first loss of the season
Both Halifax Academy JV basketball team fell at home Tuesday night.
JV girls fell in the afternoon game against Rocky Mount Academy 19-22 dropping Halifax's overall record to 1-3.
Leading scorers for Halifax were: Sydney Smith with 10 points, Maddie Suiter with 8 points and Emerson Poole with 1 point.
In the JV boys came from behind in the closing of regulation time and with a free throw by Will Cooke tied the game and with a second shot could have sealed the game, but a miss sent the game into overtime. Rocky Mount Academy pulled ahead in overtime and forced the JV boys to deal with their first lost of the season 44-51 . Halifax JV boys now have a 3-1 overall record.
Leading scores for Halifax were: Will Cooke with 19 points, Garrett Smith with 11 points, Reid Lynch with 8 points and Larry West along with Kal Liles each had 3 points.
