Halifax Academy sweeps Hobgood in basketball

Halifax Academy hosted county rivals Hobgood Academy Monday night in Viking gym.

Halifax JV girls started the night off with the win by beating Hobgood 22-19.

Leading scorers for Halifax were: Kate Hawkins with 11 points, Sydney Smith with 5 points and Emerson Poole with 3 points.

Leading scorers for Hobgood were:  Stephanie Moore with 8 points, Caitlyn Johnson with 7 points and Lauren Streeter with 4 points.

Halifax varsity girls continued the winning by beating Hobgood 59-17.

Leading scorers for Hallifax were: Kelly Williams with 31 points, Kim Shearin, Drew Rose and Candice Smith with 8 points each.

Halifax varsity boys wrapped up the night in overtime beating Hobgood 64-59. It was a back and forth battle the whole game. 

Leading scorers for Halifax were:  Garrett Morris with 34 points, Jacob Smith with 16 points and Matthew Wray with 7 points.
