Roanoke Valley Area Athletes Win National Cheerleading Championships
Atlanta Georgia - Ten teams from the Cheer Extreme All Stars (CEA) Raleigh gym competed along with approximately 175 other teams from across the country at last week’s All Star Challenge “Queen of the Nile” National Cheerleading Championship in Atlanta, Georgia. 5 of the teams won National Championships in their divisions and 5 were runners up.
The Roanoke Valley area had representatives on four of the ten CEA Raleigh teams. Taylor Phelps, 15, competed on the Small Senior Coed Level 4 team which defeated 6 teams to earn 2nd out of 8 in their division. Taylor’s team had zero deductions both days. Cailyn Jackson, 12; competed on the Senior Medium Coed Level 5 team (SMOX) which placed 2nd in a highly competitive division
Madison Elias, 11 and Taylor Floyd, 11 earned National Championship titles with their Youth Level 3 team (Youth X). Madison also won a second national championship with the Junior Level 5 team (SJX).
