Girls suffer first loss of season on turnovers
Weather moved the Coastal Independent conference game between Oakwood and Halifax Academy from Tuesday to Thursday (tonight) and it appeared to be a storm in the Vikings gym.
Middle school action started the day off with Oakwood beating Halifax 31-23.
Leading scorers for Halifax were: Thomas Garrett with 12 points, Jesse Rose with 4 points, Eli Harris, Harrison Hardee and Cody Wood with 2 points each and Jacob Harris with 1 points.
Halifax varsity girls lose first game of the season, losing a conference game to Oakwood 37-45.
Leading scorers for Halifax were: Kelly Williams with 25, Kim Shearin with 6 points, DreW Rose with 4 points and Jordan Strickland with 2 points.
Oakwood scorer Kaitlyn Kostrzebski with 9 points.
The Lady Vikings have a 14-1 overall record and move into second in the conference with a 4-1 record.
Halifax varsity boys closed out the night close but fall short losing to Oakwood 55-58.
Leading scorers for Halifax were: Garrett Morris with 34 points, Jacob Smith with 14 points, Jackson Harris with 4 points and Matthew Wray with 3 points.
The boys have a 5-10 overall record and a 1-4 in the conference.
