Wedsnesday was National Signing Day for High school football Seniors to sign letters of intent to play colligate football.
Roanoke Rapids 2015 Senior kicker Caleb Pratt signed his letter to play football at East Carolina University (ECU) in Greenville. Pratt will be a preferred walk-on and be on the team.
While on the varsity football team at Roanoke Rapids, Pratt played 25 games, he had 117 kickoffs for 1,487 yards and 64 of those kickoffs were touchbacks. Pratt had 71 punts in his two season on the varsity team for a total of 2,620 yards averaging 36.9 yards. He is credited for a total of 103 points over his two years kicking. Pratt made 70 of 79 point after attemps and 11 of 20 field goal attempts with 47 yards being his longest.
Pratt was named 2015 All-conference and earned team Specialty award.
Roanoke Rapids Head coach Eric McDaniels stated, "After only 6 months in Roanoke Rapids, have seen that Pratt is well deserving of his accomplishments as he is a worker. Caleb is also living his dream; to be a Pirate. He could also play immediately, depending on how he performs leading up to the Fall of 2015. Roanoke Rapids football program can"t replace Pratt; outstanding player, hard worker, very good leader. Caleb knows the importance of TEAM - makes him a outstanding young man. Looking forward to seeing him at the next level.
