Roanoke Rapids basektball teams traveled to Southern Vance Wedsnesday night

Roanoke Rapids JV boys won 55-51.

Roanoke Rapids varsity girls lost to Southern Vance 45-60.
Leading scorers for Roanoke Rapids were: Alizae Neville with 18 points, Brooke McClenny with 15 points, Brianna Allen with 8 points, Taylor Medlin with 3 points & Kaitlin Barkley with 1 point.

Roanoke Rapids varsity boys won 79-77 in 2 overtimes.
Leading scorers for Roanoke Rapids were: Marcus Jones with 23 points, Dejuan Walker with 17 points and Semaj Smith with 10 points.

Head coach Tyler Snyder comments after the game, "Total team win. We were down 3 in the final seconds of the 4th period when Semaj Smith hit a 3 pointer to send it to the first overtime. We got a lead in the 1st overtime, but found ourselves down 3 points again in the final seconds and Marcus Jones hit a 3 pointer to send it to the second overtime. We were down by 1, when DJ Jones got fouled and made both free throws to give us a lead. Then Dejuan Walker stole a pass and made a layup to extend our lead. It was a very intense game with both teams not wanting to lose."
