Roanoke Rapids Junior Sierra Hearp show off her swing

The Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jacket softball pitcher showed off her hitting skills last Saturday in Wilson.

Hearp who takes lesson at the "Next Level Baseball & Softball Academy" located in Wilson NC beat out other girls from over Eastern NC in the High school division to win the hitting league competition. The top four hitters after the three month long league went head to head and Hearp walked away earning the title. 

The Roanoke Rapids along with all the area high school baseball and softball season opening practice has been postponed all week due to the bad weather we received. Coaches are hoping the try-outs can at least get started Monday even if inside a gym.
