With all area school out Wednesday due to inclement weather and more bad weather forcasted, when will games be played.

Due to inclement weather, which is now forecast for across the state starting tonight, any NCHSAA basketball playoff game which cannot be played today (Wednesday, February 25) should be postponed and rescheduled for Thursday night (February 26).

The NCHSAA staff will continue to monitor the situation and provide additional information about games scheduled for Thursday by mid-morning on Thursday. Scheduling should be done on a day-by-day basis only, but the NCHSAA is also exploring a variety of alternatives if postponements continue.

Games may start no earlier than 4 p.m. on Thursday, provided the schools mutually agree to that earlier time due to the weather.  A time earlier than 4 p.m. must be requested and approved by the NCHSAA.

Area Athletic directors and school official are in contact with each other and watching the weather. Roanoke Rapids AD Tom Davis stated to RRSPIN in an email, "Cummings AD and myself are in contact and we will play when it is safe to travel."

Schools have four days to get three rounds of games in before March 3 Eastern Regionals start 3rd-7th in Fayetteville at the Crown Coluiseum the Crown Arena.
