Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets hosted the Franklinton Red Rams Wednesday night to battle for first place in the 2A Northern Carolina Conference
Roanoke Rapids scored first by a goal by Chloe Wilson and the girls never looked back. Lauren Blackmon earned the next goal for the Jackets followed with one by Harley Shearin giving Roanoke Rapids a 3-0 lead at half time.
The second half opened and Shearin scored her second goal of the night. Katherine Clayton finished the night off on goals for the Jackets with her one for the night.
Kristy Price worked the goal from one side to the other up and down and only gave up one goal to the Rams in the closing. Kourtney Livesay played great defense as well.
Roanoke Rapids 5-1 win improves them to a 6-0-1 overall record and earns them a sole possession on first place in the 2A NCC and travel to NCSSM Thursday March 26th for a 7PM match.
