Halifax Academy Varsity baseball team traveled to The Factory Baseball Complex in Wake Forest to play St. Thomas More of Raleigh.

The Vikings started the game with 4 straight singles followed by a double from Landon Poole. The next 2 Viking batters would reach 1st on errors. The score was 7-0 after the 1st inning.

The Vikings would add 2 more runs in the 2nd inning when Luke Blackman began the inning with a double followed by a single from Ryan Mizelle. Mizelle would score on a fielders choice by Collin Smith. Vikings added 1 run in the 3rd inning and 2 in the 4th for a total of 12 runs and their defense held the home team to only 1 hit.

The Vikings racked up 11 hits in 5 innings.

Leading hitters Luke Blackman going 2-3 with a single and double and Ryan Mizelle 2-3 with 2 singles. Landon Poole added a double and Matthew Wray, Collin Smith, Tyler Jomo, Brandon Moody, Eric Hockaday, & Cody Moore each hitting a single.

Ryan Mizelle got the start on the mound Thursday pitching 3 innings; allowed 1 hit, 2 walks, & 3 strikeouts. Reid Lynch closed out the game pitching the last 2 innings facing 6 batters, striking out 4 of those 6.

The Vikings travel to Goldsboro Monday March 30th to face non-conference Wayne Country Day. The Vikings record is now 3-3.
