Flagpole to honor the late coach Mike Newsome coming to life.
Today's "Team Mike" Hotdog bag lunch was a huge success in making the flagpole come a step closer to honoring coach Newsome. The community came together in working and buying bags. Cars and trucks lined the Pro-build parking lot. Agencies from all over Halifax county were stopping by. Thanks to a few family members & friends from Virginia, the Roanoke Rapids Fire Department and Station 6 EMS were treated to bag lunches for their service to our community.
This was the second event to raise money and now there is enough for a deposit to order from Mike Butts of Littleton at 1800flagpole.com and have ready to installed by Al Cooke of Cooke construction of Littleton sometime soon.
On behalf of "Team Mike" I Randy Wrenn would like to thanks everyone working and purchasing and donating today for this cause to honor a friend and coach.
