The Roanoke Rapids Varsity Baseball team won on the road at Franklinton by a score of 8-4 in Northern Carolina Conference baseball action on Monday night.
Colby Warren picked up the win on the mound pitching 5 solid innings. Nick Horvath earned the save by pitching 2 scoreless inning to finish out the game.
Leading Hitters for RRHS were: Nick Horvath and Hunter Connell with 3 hits each. Bracy Irby had 2 hits on the night while Cameron Rogerson, Josh Elias, Colby Warren, and Jarret Williamson had 1 hit each.
Head Coach Mark Snead coments, "This was another total team effort from our guys. The pitching did an excellent job of limiting their opportunities. Our defense played well other than one bad inning and our offense had some timely hitting. We scored 5 of our 8 runs with two outs. That is what good teams do. I am really proud of how we played tonight."
RRHS is now 9-7 overall and 8-4 in the Northern Carolina Conference.
The next game for the Yellow Jackets is today at 6pm versus NC School of Science and Math. It will be Senior Night and the Yellow Jackets will honor their two seniors, Caleb Pratt and Hunter Whitmire before the game
