The Roanoke Rapids lady soccer team hosted East Duplin Wednesday night in the 1st round of the 2A NCHSAA State soccer play-offs.

The #6 seed Jackets beat the #37 East Duplin 3-0 at Hoyle field to advance to host the second round match Saturday night. The Jackets will host the winner of #11 seed Currituck County vs #22 North Johnston match also being played Wednesday night.

Harley Shearin scored the first goal for the Jackets in the first half. Three minutes into the second half Lauren Blackmon scored the Jackets second goal off a pass from Harley Shearin and Chloe Wilson finished the Jackets scoring with a penalty kick goal nine minutes into the second half.
