The Grasshopper sponsored by Roanoke Valley Energy lost the first game of a double header to the Muckdogs 3-1. Pitching in the victory for the Muckdogs was Bennett Liverman who allowed 2 hits and struck out 15 in six innings of work. Stacy Mumford and Rick Lee pitched in the loss and combined for 7 strikeouts.
Leading the way at the plate for the Muckdogs were Liverman and Austin Geary each with a hit. Liverman, Geary, and Anthony Jones all scored for the Muckdogs. Mumford and Lee had the hits for the Grasshoppers with Wade Jenkins accounting for the lone run.
In the second game the Grasshoppers fell to the Wahoos sponsored by Price’s Refrigeration and Heating 12-4.
The Blue Wahoos won 12-4 behind strong pitching from Caleb Elias and Russell Moore. Elias struck out 10, walked 2 and gave up 5 hits in 4 innings. Russell Moore came on to pitch the final inning striking out 2, gave up no walks and 1 hit.
