The Grasshoppers, sponsored by Lisa Christenbury Heating & Cooling, beat the Rockhounds, sponsored by Secure Zoo's on Wednesday night at King Field.

The Grasshoppers, visiting team, got off to a good start with a single and earned run from Aric Stewart and a triple and earned run from Wesley Boerner.  The Rockhounds held the Grasshoppers to three runs in the top of the 1st with two strikeouts by pitcher, Nate Riggs, and a caught foul pop fly by first baseman Joshua Walker. 

The Rockhounds got the bats going but came up short in the bottom of the 1st.  The Grasshoppers got the first out with the team work of pitcher, Aric Stewart, throwing out the batter-runner to first baseman, Eli Mason.  Aric struck out the next batter and Eli  put out another batter-runner at first.

The Grasshoppers started off the top of the 2nd with a single from Eli Mason and a single with one earned run from Brian Smith.  The Rockhounds held the Grasshoppers to one run with three strikeouts by Nate Riggs.

Matthew Kurzontkowski scored the first run for the Rockhounds in the bottom of the 2nd.  The Grasshoppers held the Rockhounds with two strikeouts by from Aric Stewart and one throw out from Aric to first baseman, Eli Mason.

The defense of the Rockhounds started off the top of the 3rd with a caught pop fly by Tyrese Holms deep in center field and a strikeout by pitcher, Seth Tickel.  The offense of the Grasshoppers scored five runs with a double and earned run from Wesley Boerner and a triple and earned run from Hunter Sparks.

The Rockhounds offense came on strong with a single and earned run from Caleb Hall, and a single and earned run from Nate Riggs to score five runs in the bottom of the 3rd.

Mikey Hartson got on base for the Grasshoppers with a single in the top of the 4th.  The Rockhounds maintained their momentum and held the Grasshoppers to zero runs with a throw from pitcher, Mathew Kurzontkowski, to first baseman, Joshua Walker to tag out the batter-runner at first and a double play by from a caught pop fly by Joshua who threw the ball to second baseman, Caleb Hall, to tag the runner at 2nd.

The Grasshoppers secured the 9-6 win with Aric Stewart striking out the side in the bottom of the 4th.
