The Roanoke Valley Girls Softball League under 17 all-stars started this weekends Little Tarheel District 7 all-star tournament opener with a win in Tarboro.

After spotting Edenton-Chowan a 5 run advantage in the 1st inning, the Roanoke Valley U17 All-Stars rebounded to capture a 10-7 win.

Lauren Oliver went the distance on the mound for the win, allowing 5 hits, no walks and pitched three strike-outs.

Lauren Storey led the team at the plate with three hits.

The Roanoke Valley team will now face Cashie in the winner's bracket at 11:00 AM Sunday Morning.
