The Roanoke Valley Community came together this past weekend in Gaston to support Cameron Carroll.

Twelve teams, four women's and eight men's slow pitch softball teams hit the Dwight Hall Sports Complex field to raise money for the 9 year-old Carroll.

Carroll was present to throw out the first pitch and see the support first hand. Carroll in return pulled several names out making a few winnings just as happy. The two winning teams presented their championship trophy right back to Carroll, stating we played for you and you deserve these trophies. Hudson Motorsports won the women's division, while  Team Cameron won the men's division.

Tournament organizer stated he was very pleased with the turnout and support for the young Carroll. He also wanted to thank the Town of Gaston, Tim Kirby, Wendy Robinson, Donna Smith and all the volunteers. Not to forget the teams who participated in the tournament for a great kid and parents.
