Weldon students headed to Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation overnight camp.

The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation overnight camp provides opportunities for kids to play baseball and softball in a state of the art ballpark, meet peers from other communities, and participate in interactive character education programming which enhances the lessons of the Healthy Choices, Healthy Children program.  These lessons are imparted through special presentations and nightly programs presented by mentors and law enforcement.  Youth will also be afforded lodging, meals, uniforms, and other athletic equipment, while taking part in adventure activities such as kayaking, ropes courses, and swimming.

Weldon City Schools’ students Lanequa Bennett, Unequa Bennett and Tatyanna Squire left on Sunday, August 16, 2015 left to attend the camp in Aberdeen, Maryland and will return on Thursday August 20, 2015.
