Halifax native and current Hendricks Motorsports NASCAR engine builder Earl Wheeler emotional about tonight's Bristol race.

"I've enjoyed a lot of success with NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon over the years. I Even got my first win with him as an engine builder," said Wheeler. With the conclusion of his full time roll as a cup driver is near, the opportunity is narrowing down for another win.

Tonight's Jeff Gordon's #24 Chevrolet throwback Rainbow Warriors paint scheme will be powered by a Earl Wheeler built engine. " I'm honored to have an engine riding with him this eve in the final original Rainbow Warrior paint scheme. It's been a good ride and I'm very fortunate to be a small part of this guys history," added Wheeler.
