Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jacket Jake Rooker who was injured this past Friday night, continues to improve at HRMC.
Rooker who received four broken ribs and a collapsed lung during a kick-off is improving according to Rooker's father Larry. "He has had more x-rays and they are going to take his drain tube out Tuesday morning. Then he has to stay a couple more days just to make sure his lung is ok, added Mr. Rooker.
"Jake had some pain around the shoulder today also his ribs, but he had also walk around the hall two times today. Roanoke Rapids head coach Eric McDaniel and coach Tyler Snyder came to see him today and it put a smile on his face," he added.
"Jake was wearing his rib protector also when this happened and it's a hard physical hitting game to play no matter how well you are protected. As a parent you pray nothing happens to the player's every game. My family wants to thank the support and the community for everything they have done for Jake and my family during this time, " Mr. Rooker stated.
