The Roanoke Rapids High School Varsity Yellow Jackets will host the Brunswick County Virginia Bull Dogs Friday night at Hoyle field.

Also the Roanoke Rapids High School has announced it will be Kareem Martin night. Martin who is a 2010 graduate of Roanoke Rapids played football, basketball and ran track ate Roanoke Rapids. Martin was twice named Defensive player of the year in 08 & 09, was named the NCHSAA Male Athlete of the Year in 2009 along with being named the 5th best player in the state of NC. Martin chosen for East West All-star game, NC Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.

Martin then attended the University of Carolina where he played four years and earned all ACC honors his senior year.

In 2014 Martin was selected in the 3rd round of the NFL draft by the Arizona Cardinals and is in his second year in the NFL.

Martin will not make the game due to the Cardinals playing at Oakland Raiders Sunday, but his Family will be at the field to accept the honor of "Kareem Martin" night at Roanoke Rapids High School Hoyle Field.

Their will be miniature Kareem Martin night footballs and RRspin.com Sports & TD Sports Screen Printing will be giving the first 50 youth Under 12 in the gate "Kareem Martin" night t-shirts. Gates opening at 6:30 PM.
