The Halifax - Northampton Youth Football League 2015 season was kicked off Monday night in Gaston.

The Roanoke Rapids Hornets home game against William R. Davie Vikings was moved until Tuesday night at Hoyle field, but the varsity season kicked off in Gaston with the Gaston Buckeyes hosting the Weldon Chargers.

Weldon won the contest 14 - 0
