The GCP Pride took care of business Wednesday in Conway by beating Conway in the first week of middle school football.

GCP defeated Conway Middle by the score of 54-0.

GCP took the opening kickoff and drove the ball 70 yards for a touchdown with Johnny Cruz hitting paydirt from 10 yards out. Cruz had touchdown runs of 10, 80 & 45 yards with the 45 yarder being called back due to a penalty. He finished the game with 7 carries for 170 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jamar Banks had 5 carries for 40 yards and 1 touchdown. Kale Sutton had 3 carries for 35 yards and 1 touchdown. Malik Lee had 5 carries for 55 yards and 1 touchdown. Samuel Watson had 3 carries for 20 yards and 1 touchdown. Christopher Ward had 3 carries for 57 yards. Semaj Mitchell had 2 carries for 35 yards. Antonio Lawrence had 3 two point conversions. Jalen Lockhart had 3 two point conversions.

Defensive leaders were Micah Porch with a 30 yard interception for a touchdown and 2 tackles, Tayshaun Ransom with 2 sacks and 3 tackles, Malik Lee with 7 tackles, Semaj Mitchell with 6 tackles and Johnny Cruz and Markese Gorham with 3 tackles a piece.
