On Tuesday October 20, the Roanoke Rapids High School cross country teams competed in the Northern Carolina Conference championship meet in Durham. 

With all 8 conference teams represented, the Yellow Jackets faced a strong field in the meet.

The Men's team finished 4th overall in team points.  RRHS was paced by Josh Elias, Semaj Smith, Dakota Sweet, Peyton Jackson, and McGilbra Cutchin.

The Women's team finished 4th overall in team points.  RRHS was paced by Katherine Clayton, Catherine Acree, Karalee Miller, Kate Pleasant, and Alexis Karns.  With her strong season long performance, Katherine Clayton was named All-Conference.

"I am extremely proud of the way our runners performed today.  We had 20 runners who set a new personal record during the meet.  As a coach, I can't ask for anything more from our runners.  They have worked hard all year and it really paid off in a big way today.  I am so happy for all of our runners." said head coach Mark Snead

The Yellow Jackets will now prepare for the NCHSAA 2A Mideast Regional meet on Saturday October 31 at the WakeMed Soccer Complex in Cary, NC.
