Head coach Jim Whitmire stated after the game, "What a difference a year makes. The 2015-16 edition of the Lady Yellow Jackets is off to a very strong start. We had a quick turnaround from a disappointing loss to NW Halifax. I chalk that up to youth and first game jitters. Last year 0-3, this year 2-1. I could not be happier with the start to this season. Last year we had 13 girls in the entire program, this year we have 22 and had 29 out for tryouts. The program is getting back on track. The girls are playing well together and are starting to gel off the court as well. This shows up in practice and at game time. I have a great bunch of underclassmen and very good core group of veterans. There has been some major lineup changes and position changes. Alazae Neville has been moved to forward on defense and 2 guard on offense. She has embraced the change and is doing well in the maturation process to learn the position. We have a stable of point guards and gym full of shooters. This is going to be a very special season.
