A group of Roanoke Valley runners started off the New Year with a 10k (6.2 miles) race Friday January 1, 2016.

It was the 1st Annual Roanoke Valley 10k and was held at Manning Elementary walking track.

First overall male finisher was Rodney Robertson with a time of 49:49.

First female overall finisher was Sarah Patton with a time of 51:51.
