Weldon's varsity boys basketball's disappointing 61-59 loss against Bertie High School last month left a scar on their record with the only loss so far this season.

However this past Wednesday night, Weldon traveled to Bertie seeking redemption; and they did just that.  The Weldon Chargers took the lead with the first points of the game and held the lead until the 4th quarter buzzer.

Weldon Senior Melquan Ames led the chargers with 25 points, and Senior Jimall McGee following behind with 17 points.  Senior Koraan Clements ended the night with 12 assists.  The final score was 65-60.

The Weldon Chargers maintain their 9 game win streak as they face off against Granville Central at home Friday night.

Weldon's overall record is 10-1 so far this season.
