It was less than twenty-four hours since the Arizona Cardinals championship run ran out of steam after their 49-15 loss to the Panthers in the NFC Championship game on Sunday night in Charlotte, but they were back in Arizona to wrap up their 2016 season.

The players were back at the team’s training facility in Arizona on Monday morning to clean out their lockers and conduct exit interviews. The loss was a punch to the gut, but coach Bruce Arians was “very proud” of what the Cardinals accomplished as a whole. Teammates signed helmets and exchanged items on clean-up day to save the 2016 NFC West championship season.

The Cardinals won a franchise-record 13 regular season games and an NFC West championship earning the No. 2 seed in the NFC.

This was the second season the Carolina Panthers ended the Cardinals post season run.

Roanoke Rapids native Kareem Martin, Cardinal linebacker finished his second year with the NFL team playing in all 18 games. In those game he totaled 11 tackles and two force fumbles.
