Butch Barber, the Area USSSA director opened the 2016 season off this past Saturday hosting the USSSA "Love of the Game" slow-pitch softball Tournament in Roanoke Rapids at Chockeyotte Park.

The East Coast Softball team earned first while the Outlaws earned second place.

The games were scheduled for last weekend but with the inclement weather they were moved to this weekend. Barber stated, " I would like to congratulate the winners and thank the other teams, Dem Boyz, Misfits and State Line Rejectz for participating."
