#4 seed Weldon (19-3) beat #13 seed Louisburg (16-10)  53-45. 

2A Roanoke Valley Girls

#13 seed Roanoke Rapids (15-6) lost to #4 seed Bertie (24-1)  45-58.

1A Roanoke Valley Girls

#5 seed Southeast Halifax (18-2) beat #12 Manteo (19-8)   56-36.

#6 seed Northampton County (19-3) beat #11 seed Riverside (18-8)    76-66.

#13 seed Weldon (13-7) lost to #4 seed Rosewood (23-3)  46-55.

#18 seed Northwest Halifax (11-10) lost to #2 seed Plymouth (25-1)   39-77.

The following local teams advanced to the third round Saturday February 27th in the NCHSAA basketball Championship play-offs and are in the sweet sixteen.

1A Roanoke Valley Girls

#5 seed Southeast Halifax (21-2) will travel to #4 seed Rosewood (24-3)

#6 seed Northampton County (20-3) will travel to #3 seed Pamlico Hurricanes (25-3)
