Murfreesboro native, now Wilmington resident Zakk Royce who set two State record Blue Catfish catches in two days back in December just missed beating his own NC state record today on Lake Gaston.

Royce landed a another Blue catfish Friday and just missed his NC State record by 6 pounds. When Royce went to get his fish's weight certified, this fish pegged the scales at 100 pounds even. Making this one fall between first State Record one at 91 lbs. and his current NC State record 105 pound catch back in December of 2015. 

Zakk Royce posted on his Facebook,  "Oh well, needless say I'm absolutely thrilled regardless. Everything is on video including the release of the fish and I will get everything posted as soon as I can. Thanks to everyone for the support!"
