The Halifax Academy Lady Vikings softball team opened their 2016 season on the road at Wake Christian Academy's First Pitch Tourney.
Halifax fell 8-4 to Wesleyan Christian in game one of the two day tournament.
Candice Smith pitched the game striking out four batters.
At the plate for Halifax Academy: Ashton Garner had a double, Drew Rose had two singles, Candice Smith had two singles, Ashlynn Liles had two singles, Sydney Smith had a single, Karen Alston had a single, Emily Atkins had a single.
In game two of the day, Halifax fell 13-9 to host team Wake Christian Academy.
