The Roanoke Rapids Varsity baseball team lost their home opener 3-2 to Northern Nash on Wednesday night. 

"Our pitchers (Colby Warren, Nick Horvath, Logan Jackson, and Josh Elias) pitched well tonight and gave us a chance to win. Our defense was solid behind them and turned several double plays. So we had some positives to build on. We just really need to wake up our bats and start hitting like we know we can. We will work hard at practice tomorrow to help us produce more quality at bats." Said coach Mark Snead. 

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Friday at home when they open up conference play against Warren County. The JV game will start at 4pm with the Varsity game to follow.
