The Roanoke Rapids Varsity Baseball team wrapped up the clean sweep of BUNN after the V baseball and girls softball had beaten them.

The Yellow Jackets defeated the Bunn Wildcats by a score of 2-1 in 10 innings on Friday night at Doyle Field. 

Colby Warren started on the mound and pitched 8 innings. He allowed only one run and struck out 8 batters. Nick Horvath picked up the win in relief by pitching 2 shutout innings. 

Colby Warren had the walk off double with 2 outs in the 10th. He drove home Hunter Connell for the game winning run. Marcus Allen had a big night at the plate with 5 hits.

Post game comments from head coach Mark Snead, "This was a great high school baseball game between two very good teams. This was a total team win tonight. I am so proud of all of our guys. Everyone contributed in some way to the win. We took a big step forward as a team tonight. We will celebrate this win but get back to hard work on Monday to prepare for South Granville on Tuesday."

With the win the Yellow Jackets improve to 4-2 on the season and 3-0 in the Northern Carolina Conference.

The Jackets will be back in action at home on Tuesday against the defending State Champions South Granville. The JV game starts at 4:00 with the Varsity game to follow.
