PITTMAN ELEMENTARY PTA RAISING FUNDS TO GO FROM SCHOOL HOUSE TO THE WHITE HOUSE

Pittman Elementary School PTA of Enfield, NC is aiming to raise $16,000 in support of an educational and cultural field trip to the Nation’s Capital in Washington, DC.

The tour will be part of Pittman’s history and service learning for 4th & 5th Graders. The trip will take place April 25–27, 2016, and will support student success through exposure to culture, education, community service, college & career readiness, advocacy and increasing civic engagement.

In a community school-wide effort to raise the needed funds, Pittman students, teachers, and PTA are reaching out to area businesses, churches, civic organizations, and individuals to ask for funding and sponsorship support Pittman Elementary School Goes from the school house to the White House. School administrators, teachers and students have been raising funds for the trip since October, but still $8,500 short on the funds needed to cover the total cost of trip.

Your sponsorship will help ensure the Pittman’s 4th & 5th Graders are afforded the opportunity to visit The White House (and hopefully get a glimpse of President Obama), the First Family, US Senator Thom Tillis and Congressman G. K. Butterfield, advocate for education in rural communities, and tour many historical sites in DC.  It is part of Pittman and their PTA’s mission to help all children reach their full potential through family-community-school partnerships.

Don’t miss this chance to support Pittman’s student success and reach their goal of $16,000. If you have any questions or would like to make a contribution please contact Chester B. Williams, PTA President 252-673-6218 or 2.52-445-5268.
