The Roanoke Rapids Varsity Yellow Jackets baseball team defeated East Carteret by a score of 4-3 on the second day of the Ray Avery Easter Tournament at Ayden-Grifton High School.

Josh Elias earned the win by pitching a complete game while striking out 3 batters.

The offense was led by Nick Horvath with 2 hits and a run scored, Hunter Connell with a hit and a run scored, Josh Elias with a hit, Colby Warren with 2 RBI, Dylan Allen with 1 RBI, and Marcus Allen with 2 runs scored.

Post game comments from head coach Mark Snead, "We beat a good team and strong pitcher today.  Josh pitched extremely well and our defense was excellent once again.  Everyone on the team is doing their part to help us play as well as we have been playing. I really like the way we are coming together."

The Yellow Jackets improve to 8-2 on the season. 

RRHS will return to action on Tuesday against Bear Grass Charter for the final day of the tournament. Game time is set for 2pm.
