The Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets softball team traveled Henderson to face the Southern Vance Raiders.
The Lady jackets earned the conference win over the Raiders 7-4.
Not only did Hunter Martin earn the win from the mound, but had a lead off home-run in the top of the seventh inning. On the mound Martin pitched 7 innings allowing four runs off of four hits, with one walk and twelve strike-outs.
The Jackets went 10-32 at the plate leaving 6 runners on base. Hunter Martin had a double and home-run with 1 RBI, Kimmie Ethridge had a single and a triple with 1 RBI, Camden Bierbauer had a triple while Jordan Carpenter, Breanna Allen, Dakota Etheridge, Meaghan Colston and Michelle Stewart each had a single.
The Lady Jackets remain in second place in the 2A Northern Carolina Conference behind the undefeated South Granville team. The Lady Jackets are in action Monday at home against Nash Central with JV match-up at 4:30 PM with the Varsity to follow.
