The RRHS Varsity Baseball team picked up a Northern Carolina Conference win at Southern Vance by a score of 22-0.
Nick Horvath earned the win on the mound by pitching 4 scoreless innings while striking out 4 batters. Dylan Allen closed out the game by pitching the 5th inning and striking out all 3 batters he faced.
The Yellow Jackets pounded out 19 hits in the game from 14 different batters.
Head coach Mark Snead stated, "This was a total team effort today. Nick pitched great and the defense played well behind him. Then Dylan came in for his first high school pitching appearance ever and strikes out the side. Our offense really exploded. To have 14 different batters record hits today says a lot about how the guys took their approach at the plate. They have really worked hard and it paid off. I am really proud of the whole team for how they played today. "
The Yellow Jackets improve to 12-2 overall and 7-0 in the Northern Carolina Conference.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action next Tuesday at Warren County. The JV game will start at 4 pm with the Varsity game to follow.
