The Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets soccer team traveled to Holly Ridge Saturday night to face the Dixon Bulldogs in the second round of the 2A NCHSAA State Championship play-offs.

The Jackets lost 0-4 ending their 2015-16 season

Post match comments from Roanoke Rapids head coach Craig Jean, "We never seemed to get going and find our groove. We had a few good scoring chances early on, they just didn't go our way. They capitalized on a turn over about 12 minutes in and then scored another while we still seemed to be in a state of shock from the one before. We played the rest of the first half trying to get back in it. The 3rd goal with three minutes before halftime took the air out of the game. We did come out and fight hard in the second half."

Coach also add,"This team was a wonderful group of girls to coach. I had a talented group of seniors (Catherine Acree, Lauren Blackmon, Lauren Brown, Kourtney Livesay, Kaitie Smith, and Chloe Wilson) that have had a lot of success over the past 4 years and I will miss not just coaching them, but watching them play."
