First year ECU Club Baseball member Roanoke Rapids High graduate and ECU Junior Abel Hernandez earned  his 2nd National "Player of Week" award for 2016 for his performance this past weekend at the Mid Atlantic Regional Championship.

Hernandez had a monster weekend at the plate in the Mid Atlantic Regional. In 3 games played, he went 6-13 with 2 doubles, 2 HR's, 4 runs, 11 RBI's, and 1 stolen base to help ECU win the MAR crown.

For the 2016 season, Hernandez leads the team in Homeruns with seven and in RBI's with 33.

The #2 seed ECU Club Mid Atlantic Champion team (35-3-2) are headed to the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA) Division I World Series 2016 in Paducah's historic Brooks Stadium in Paducah KY starting May 27th with first game at 2:45 PM.

Also Roanoke Rapids High graduate Kyle Pratt in his fifth and final year on the ECU team is also headed to the World Series for his third time as a Pirate. Pratt has 36 stolen bases this season.
