The Roanoke Rapids Parks and Recreation along with the Roanoke Rapids High School held  a Soccer Camp for 3rd-7th graders at the TJ Davis Recreation Department.

At the conclusion of camp, three awards were given out by Roanoke Rapids High's head soccer coach Craig Jean the camp instructor.

Cameron Neal received the MVP/Camper of the Week award for the girls and Ayden Woodall received the award for the boys.  The "Hustle" award was given to Jake Merritt.

RRHS head soccer coach Craig Jean commented, "We had a good turnout this week with a great group of kids. I had a lot of fun running the camp with this group. Each kid showed good improvement every day. It is always nice when you see the things that you are emphasizing show up in their scrimmage play. Some of these kids have been coming to this camp for a few years and I enjoy seeing them progress as players.  We also had some kids here for the first time who had good attitudes and energy and were eager to learn.  I hope these kids take what they have learned this week and keep a desire to get better by continuing to train while developing a love for the sport.   A big thank you goes out to my high school players Eulices Pineda, Markus Chappell and Thomas Merritt as well as Daniel Acree that donated their time and energy to come out and help with the camp. "
