Rising Roanoke Rapids High school Lady Yellow Jacket senior Breanna Allen earns All-tournament award this past weekend in travel softball.
Allen traveled to Burlington NC to participate in the NCNSA Xeno Showcase fast pitch softball tournament.
Each team will have 3 pitchers, 2 catchers and 1 position player for the remaining 7 positions. The Xeno is coached by former and current college players from Elon, UNC-Charlotte, UNC-Pembroke, Guilford, Queens, Presbyterian, Winthrop, Methodist, Liberty and Campbell and others in the area. These college players will select MVP's for every games which girls will receive a T-shirt and also select all tournament team at the end of the tournament.
This is an awesome opportunity for players to showcase their skills in a venue that allows college coaches to observe your performance among other players with similar aspirations of collegiate play.
Allen played in 5 games and her team was undefeated and were tournament champions. She was part of all tournament team selection by the coaches.
Offensively she hit .417 with 7 rbi's. 1 walk and 0 strikeouts.
Allen pitched in every game totaling 10 innings with a total of 15 K's, 4 walks, 4 hits, with a 1.6 ERA.
Allen also played 1st and 2nd base when she was not pitching.
