The Roanoke Valley Girls Softball League All-star teams are in Camden this weekend for the 2016 Little Tarheel District 7 all-star tournament.

The U8 all-star team kicked off their opening game by beating the Ahoskie team 11-6 to advance in the winners bracket. The Roanoke Valley team will be back in action Saturday at 1PM playing the winner of Currituck vs Cashie game.

At the plate for Roanoke Valley:  Peyton Kelly had a single, Kyla Odom had 2 singles and a double, Emily Clay had two triples, Maecy Garriss had a single and a double, Maddie Patrick had a single, Shae Johnson had a double, Madison Jones had 3 singles, Meagan Davis had a single and Kenlyn Crowder had 2 singles.
